Healthcare Document Translator, English and Spanish

• Translate healthcare and member-facing documents between English and Spanish.
• Preserve the meaning, tone, and intent of the source document in every translation.
• Apply plain-language principles so that materials remain clear to patients and members.
• Maintain consistent terminology across documents within the same assignment.
• Proofread and quality-check your own work before delivery.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, neutrality, and impartiality at all times.
• Follow HIPAA requirements and all applicable client-specific guidelines.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
• Meet agreed delivery deadlines for each assignment.
• Follow Defrilex procedures and quality standards for all assigned translation opportunities.

• Native or near-native written fluency in English and Spanish.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills in both languages.
• Strong understanding of cultural nuances in both languages.
• Ability to translate professional and healthcare-related content accurately.
• Quiet and professional workspace suitable for remote translation work.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection.
• Computer capable of running standard document and translation software.
• Ability to pass required language proficiency and client qualification assessments.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and client-specific requirements.

• ATA certification or an equivalent translation credential.
• HIPAA Certification.
• Experience with CAT tools such as Trados or memoQ.
• Previous experience translating healthcare or other regulated content.
• Familiarity with plain-language and language-access requirements for member materials.
• Experience working with healthcare terminology.
